The NYX Lid Lingerie is what the brand claims to be a “weightless eye tint with a delicate peal finish”, priced at £6 from Boots.
Background info + Packaging
It’s available in 12 shades and today I’ll be reviewing the shade ‘Bronze Mirage’. It’s a gorgeous bronze/gold shade (seems more gold to me) which is perfect for everyday wear. Each eye tint contains 4ml of product which is more than enough considering the pigmentation.
The packaging is a clear thick plastic tube which feels pretty sturdy and thankfully, it’s not overly clunky either so it’s good for travelling. The clear plastic makes it easy to see the shade properly and is really helpful in store. As you can see in the image below, it has a doe foot applicator to apply the product itself which I also quite enjoy.
The Product Itself
I really tried my best to capture a shot that showed how gorgeous the shade truly is but unfortunately the one I got doesn’t do it enough justice! When I first picked up this shade I didn’t think too much of it as I had assumed it would be another basic shade to add to my collection.
And I was wrong.
The shade is an extremely flattering gold that catches the light perfectly and will suit a majority of people. It’s formula certainly adds to its brilliance, the fact that it’s so easy to blend and is very pigmented really satisfies the lazy side of me. I think it’s more of a cream shadow than a tint, considering the pigmentation of it and it definitely doesn’t need to be layered either. A little goes a very long way too. When I apply this to the eye I like to start with a small swipe on each lid without dipping back into the tube again. I’m certain this product is going to last me a very long time!
It’s got a good wear time of about six hours on me before it starts creasing unless it’s a hot day. I found that oily lids are bound to lead to creasing anyway in a few hours. To help this I make sure to prime and blend the product properly as well as checking up on it throughout the day. If it does crease it’s not a major issue anyway, just pat it back into place and it looks just as good as before.

How I Wear It
The photo shows how I wear the product for a fancy occasion/party. (I’m sorry about the photo! I’ve got no idea how to take good makeup photos and my eyebrows are a mess up close😂). Once again, my photo really didn’t do enough justice.
There are three ways in which I like to wear this product.
Blend and thin layer all over the lid with a fluffy brush for a light wash of gold.
Use an angled brush with some of the product and apply it like an eyeliner along the lash line. Add lots of mascara.
Focus a majority of the colour on the centre of the lid and blend the edges towards my inner and outer corner. Apply some black pencil liner and a lot of mascara to amp it up too.
My Overall Thoughts
If you haven’t guessed already, I’m in love with this product and am itching to pick up more shades! It’s lives up to it’s description and is one of the best cream eyeshadows I’ve tried. If you haven’t tried it already, it’s certainly worth a shot!
I hope you enjoyed this review everyone, it’s been fun writing it! Have a lovely day and make sure to subscribe on the right for future updates. Leave a comment below with your thoughts, I’d love to know!
